The existing house represented a typical 60' & 70's house construction and layout in a leafy suburb in Paarl. The growing family  required the house to be adapted to create more living and recreational space more appropriate to contemporary requirements.  

 

The existing kitchen and living spaces were completely refurbished and walls demolished to create a more open plan living relationship. The addition of a new swimming pool and braai facility afforded the opportunity to link the inside and outside living space into a cohesive and contemporary experience. New built in cupboards were custom designed for the kitchen, and the bedrooms to replace the dated cupboards. The roof structure was adapted extend over the new outside entertainment area.  The dated clay roof tiles were completely replaced with roof sheeting . What resulted was a contemporary adaption and addition of a typical 70's style home that could measure up to present day living requirements and standards for a modern family.
